From the Sea-to-Sky back to our Okanagan Roots
Although our founder grew up with a brush in his hand, helping his father's business, Billy Goat Painting officially began its journey in 2014. For years, we built a reputation for excellence serving the Sea-to-Sky corridor under our original name, Sureline Painting. But while our business grew on the coast, our hearts remained here in the valley—Walter’s partner was born in the Okanagan.
Moving our family and business to Kelowna is a true homecoming for us. We are thrilled to bring our trusted expertise, 12+ years of hands-on experience, and a fresh new look back to the Okanagan communities we love so much.
The "Billy Goat" name reflects who we are: a hard-working, nimble team that isn't afraid of a challenge and always climbs to new heights to deliver precision. The Season: Late April to early October.
Temperature Rules: We only paint when overnight temperatures stay reliably above 5°C, ensuring the paint cures for a long-lasting finish.
Peak Months: May, June, and September are our busiest periods.
On average, a premium exterior paint job in the Okanagan lasts between 8 and 12 years. The exact lifespan depends heavily on proper prep work, using elite products (like Sherwin-Williams Emerald or Benjamin Moore Aura), and your home’s exposure to the elements:
South-Facing Walls: High UV exposure on sunny hillsides means these sides may need a refresh in 6 to 8 years.

Your kitchen will be a workspace for about 3 to 5 days while we mask off the area and spray the cabinet frames. Yes, protecting your property and our workers is our top priority. We carry comprehensive 2-to-5 million dollar commercial liability insurance and maintain active, up-to-date coverage with WorkSafeBC. We are happy to provide copies of our certificates with your written estimate.
That is entirely up to you. Most of our clients prefer to go about their normal workday or head out for the day while we paint. Our crews are professional, vetted, and respectful of your space. Because we use low-odor, low-VOC paints, the air quality is completely safe if you prefer to work from home in a separate room while we transform your space.
Absolutely. Kelowna homes—especially those with large windows overlooking the lake or valley—experience drastic lighting shifts from morning to night. Bright summer sun can wash out pale neutrals, while winter overcast can make cool greys look blue or purple.
